WAUSAU – Wausau West High School announced that Jeff Marquardt will be the school’s new head boys golf coach on Thursday.

Marquardt is a math teacher at the school, and also serves an assistant football coach and National Honor Society advisor. He has been a part of the boys golf coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in previous years.

Marquardt is a graduate of St. Norbert College with a Masters degree from Viterbo University.

In a statement from the Wausau West athletic department: “Jeff has a reputation at West for developing relationships quickly and meaningfully with students and players. We are excited for our Warrior golfers and the boys golf program under Coach Marquardt’s leadership. Jeff will be joined (on the staff) by assistant coaches Shannon Butalla and Matt Kleinhaus.”

Wausau West finished second in the Wisconsin Valley Conference standings in 2021. The Warriors’ season is schedule to begin with a meet in Marshfield on April 19.
