WAUSAU -The D.C. Everest Area and Wausau school districts will host the 2024 Community Disability Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 24 at Wausau West High School, 1200 W. Wausau Ave.
The fair provides families and caregivers of youths with disabilities the opportunity to learn more about resources available to them in the local community.
In addition, breakout sessions are held during which families can learn about trusts/ABLE accounts, guardianship and supported decision making and the individualized education program process for students.
A dedicated special education session for Hmong families, with translation, will be hosted as well as a parent panel where panelists will share their experiences raising a child with spec.
Lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., featuring local food trucks. Childcare also will be provided. Families in need of childcare are asked to RSVP by Feb. 24 by emailing Sara Welsh at [email protected].
