Wausau Pilot & Review

Another round of hazardous weather is headed Wausau’s way this weekend, with a winter weather advisory in effect for Saturday morning.

The advisory for Marathon County begins at 2 a.m. March 30 and ends at 10 a.m. the same day. According to the U.S. National Weather Service, freezing rain and sleet is expected with total ice of about 2/10 of an inch accumulating.

Shawno County is also under an advisory for the same period with somewhat less icing expected.

Difficult travel conditions are possible during this time and drivers are urged to use caution.

Ice should melt quickly on Saturday with a high near 47 degrees.
