Wausau Pilot & Review

STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point won both team titles at the 2024 Wisconsin Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Meet on Tuesday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The Stevens Point boys finished with 200 points, with D.C. Everest a distant second with 124.5 points. Wausau West took third with 83 and Wausau East fourth with 73.5.

Wausau West finished third in the girls standings with 110 points, followed by D.C. Everest with 96.5 and Wausau East with 45.

Carter Amerson picked up a pair of wins for the Wausau West boys, taking first in the 60-meter dash in 7.05 seconds and the 200 in 23.27 seconds.

D.C. Everest’s Samuel Dassow won the 500 in 53.30, Blake Postler was first in the 60 hurdles in 8.29, and Dassow and Postler teamed with Malachi Watson and Jaiden Eastern to win the 1,600 relay in 3:36.66 for the Evergreens’ three boys conference titles.

The Wausau East boys also grabbed a title as Thomas Lowe won the pole vault with a vault of 11 feet, 6 inches.

Wausau West’s Maci Heise was also a double-winner in the girls competition as she won the 60 meters in 7.86 seconds and the 200 in 26.77 seconds. Elexa Marciniak also picked up a win for the Warriors, taking first in the 800 (2:28.63).

D.C. Everest had a pair of titles on the girls side as Megan Zemke won the 60 hurdles in 9.25 and teamed with Lilly Peterson, Ella Budleski and Neah Zimmermann to win the 1,600 relay in 4:21.82.

Lily Clifford won the shot put for Wausau East with a toss of 36 feet, ¼ inch.
