Wausau Pilot & Review

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Layla Patraw singled home Rachel Linzmeier with the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning to end a marathon game and give Wisconsin Rapids a 6-5 win over Wausau East in Wisconsin Valley Conference softball action Tuesday at Lincoln High School.

Carlie Kluz delivered an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to Wausau East to force extra innings and the score held until the 11th-inning rally for Wisconsin Rapids (4-0, 2-0 WVC).

Tristan Young went the distance for the Lumberjacks (3-2, 0-1 WVC), striking out four.

Graysen Burger, Bailey Berndt and Adriana Bodner each had two hits for Wausau East.

Wausau East will host Merrill on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
