WAUSAU – The Center for the Visual Arts has announced the official reopening of the CVA Shop, and will host a public reception April 12.

The reception will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 427 N. Fourth St., and includes an artists reception for two of the CVA’s newest exhibits. It is free, and offers beverages and appetizers.

The shop has been renovated with new furniture, lighting and signs. Artworks in the shop were selected based on a few criteria, including items that are high in quality, original and well-designed, beautiful and unique, educational, and art or artist based.

Artists and makers will have an opportunity to submit their work to the CVA Shop every year, keeping the shop fresh and exciting.

On top of artist made work, the CVA will now sell art supplies and kits in the CVA Shop.

“We are built on a foundation of education at the CVA, so it was really important to us that we are able to offer art supplies for everyone from
beginners to experienced,” said Tiffany Rodriguez-Lee, executive director. “When you take a class with us, you might want to take that practice home, and now you can.”

Regular shop hours will coincide with gallery hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
