On April 9, 2024, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on French Ridge Road, north of STH 64. The reporting party indicated that the driver appeared intoxicated. Deputies found a 38-year-old Milwaukee man showing signs of impairment and arrested him after sobriety tests for fourth-offense OWI, felony bail jumping, and cocaine possession. He was booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

The following day, a deputy stopped a vehicle on Riverside Avenue and Misty Lane in Merrill for unregistered and falsely registered plates. The 42-year-old Merrill man driving the vehicle was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and was arrested and taken to jail.

On April 12, deputies were called to a domestic disturbance on Hillside Drive in the Town of Wilson, where a dispute involving a firearm occurred the previous night. A 68-year-old Tomahawk man reportedly threatened his 43-year-old son with a gun during a fight over personal property. The son left, and the suspect’s wife expressed fear for her safety. The man was arrested on two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of intentionally pointing a firearm at a person.

On April 14, a deputy stopped a vehicle on Tree Lane and CTH Q in the Town of Scott for expired registration. The 40-year-old Madison driver, initially providing his brother’s information, admitted to the deception and was arrested for obstructing an officer, operating after revocation, and failing to install an ignition interlock device.

Later that day, another stop on USH 8 near CTH CC in the Town of Wilson led to the arrest of a 53-year-old Minneapolis man and his 25-year-old passenger. The deputy detected marijuana odor and, despite the driver’s refusal to perform sobriety tests citing medical issues, arrested him for first offense OWI and marijuana possession.

Additionally, deputies conducted 82 traffic stops, 32 security checks, responded to one domestic incident, two car vs. deer crashes, one car vs. porcupine, and two car vs. turkey. The 911 center received three hang-up calls and two nuisance calls.
