WESTON – D.C. Everest scored two early goals and held on to defeat Wausau West 2-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls soccer game Thursday night at D.C. Everest Middle School.
Jenna Baumann scored in the second minute and Zongshia Lo added another score, off an assist from Grace Sandquist, nine minutes later to give the Evergreens a 2-0 lead.
West’s Sophia Bell scored with less than two minutes to go and D.C. Everest was able to hold on in the final seconds to secure the win and improve to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the WVC. West is now 2-2-1 and 0-1 in conference play.
D.C. Everest will enjoy a week off from competition before playing a conference game at Merrill on Thursday, April 25.
