Two people are facing felony charges after police allegedly discovered more than 100 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Wausau, with two children inside the vehicle.

Cody L. Brossow, 35, and Cynthia Mack, 41, are each facing two counts of possessing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, along with additional related charges. Brossow, who lists a Waupaca address, was ordered held on a $5,000 cash bond. Mack, of Sun Prairie, is being held on a $1,500 cash bond. Both were charged March 11 in Marathon County Circuit Court.

According to court records, a Wausau Police lieutenant was on patrol March 10 when he became suspicious of a driver who left a hotel on 17th Avenue known as a high drug trafficking area shortly after pulling into the parking lot. The officer followed the driver, who allegedly appeared to be speeding and attempting to evade police, until he pulled into a school parking lot.

Additional officers responded and searched the car, where they discovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia and more than 127 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Social Services located the children’s father, who traveled to Wausau to pick them up.

Court records show Brossow, who was driving the Chevy Impala and is a registered sex offender, had four open felony cases in Waupaca and Waushara Counties at the time of his arrest. Mack also has two open felony cases, both of which are in Dane County, and was participating in a deferred prosecution program in one of those cases when she was taken into custody in Wausau.

Preliminary hearings for both suspects are set for March 20.
