Multiple crews responded late Wednesday after a home explosion in Saratoga, a community in Wood County.

Wood County Dispatch took a 911 call at about 10 p.m. Wednesday reporting the explosion at a home in the 7000 block of Pinehaven Court. Officials say the home was engulfed in flames when fire crews and officers arrived on scene.

No one was inside the home at the time of the explosion and no injuries were reported.

Officials have not released a cause, though the incident remains under investigation.

Crews from Nekoosa, Grand Rapids, Port Edwards, Wisconsin Rapids , Saratoga, and Rome assisted in the response.

This is a developing story.

The Pilot often relies on reports from police officials in control of a crime, fire or crash scene during a breaking news event. While these initial reports are valuable to readers, they also can be incomplete and even inaccurate. We let readers know what we can and can’t confirm, as well as when and how we received our information. Then we work to aggressively gather a wider range of perspectives and to verify the information through public records, interviews, photos and videos, all of which are verified before publishing.
